Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 12 August 2026 · mirrors the version shown in the GrabAm app
1. Who We Are
GrabAm is a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting buyers and sellers across Ghanaian campuses and communities to list, discover, negotiate, and purchase goods from one another.
GrabAm is a marketplace facilitator, not the buyer or seller of any listed item, and is not a party to the sale contract between a buyer and seller.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Provide accurate name, phone, email, and campus (for student accounts).
- Keep your login credentials and OTPs confidential; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- Usernames can only be changed once every 60 days.
- One account per person. Multiple accounts to manipulate fees, ratings, or negotiations is not allowed.
3. Fees
- Selling on GrabAm is 0% commission. Student and general sellers alike keep 100% of their listed selling price. Sales completed before 12 August 2026 were charged the previous seller commission (3% for student accounts, 8% for general accounts), which those historical records continue to reflect.
- Student accounts: purchases carry a 0.5% Platform Fee, minimum GHS 0.50 and maximum GHS 10.
- General accounts: purchases carry a 1% Platform Fee, minimum GHS 0.50 and maximum GHS 20.
- Fees apply to the final agreed price, including any counter-offer or coupon changes.
- The Platform Fee is GrabAm's buyer-side fee. Your payment provider (currently Moolre, or your mobile money network) charges its own separate fee to process the payment, which GrabAm does not collect and does not receive. An estimate is shown at checkout before you pay.
- Misrepresenting student status to get student rates can lead to account suspension and fee recovery.
4. Listings
- Sellers must accurately describe items and have the right to sell them.
- Illegal, stolen, counterfeit, or regulated items (e.g. firearms, prescription drugs) may not be listed.
- GrabAm may remove listings that violate these Terms or applicable law.
5. Negotiation & Forming a Sale
- Counter-offer negotiation on a listing is capped at 5 rounds.
- Either party can decline an offer at any time.
- A sale is only formed once both sides accept a price in-app and the buyer pays through the App.
- Deals made outside the App aren't covered by GrabAm's payment protection or dispute process.
6. Payments
- Payments are processed through Moolre, a licensed mobile money payment provider.
- GrabAm holds funds until the order is marked complete, then releases the full payout, at 0% seller commission, to the seller's registered MoMo number, less only any separately-defined seller-side charge (such as delivery insurance, if selected).
- GrabAm may delay or reverse a payout if there's an active dispute, suspected fraud, or a Terms violation.
- Sellers are responsible for ensuring their payout number is correct. GrabAm isn't liable for funds sent to a wrong number the seller provided.
7. Auctions
- Sellers may list an item as an auction with a starting price, an optional hidden reserve price, and a set duration.
- Bids are binding. Placing a bid is a commitment to buy at that price if you win.
- Minimum bid increments scale with the current bid: GHS 5 below GHS 100, GHS 10 below GHS 300, GHS 25 below GHS 1,000, and GHS 50 above that.
- Bidding requires a funded GrabAm Wallet. When you become the highest bidder, your bid amount is moved from your available balance into a reserved balance and is not spendable elsewhere.
- When you are outbid, your reserved amount is released back to your available balance automatically.
- Anti-sniping: a bid placed in the final 2 minutes extends the auction to 5 minutes from that moment. This can happen up to 3 times per auction.
- Reserve price is never shown. The listing indicates only whether a reserve exists and whether it has been met.
- If the auction ends below the reserve, the item does not sell and no funds change hands.
- The winner has 1 hour to complete payment. Payment is captured instantly from the reserved wallet balance.
- Failing to pay within 1 hour forfeits the auction, is recorded against your account, and may result in suspension from bidding.
- Sellers may not bid on their own auctions, or arrange for others to inflate bids on their behalf.
8. GrabAm Wallet
- The Wallet is a stored-value balance used to bid on auctions, pay for orders, and receive refunds. It is not a bank account and earns no interest.
- Funds are added by mobile money through Moolre. Your balance is credited once Moolre confirms the payment.
- Your balance has two parts: available (spendable or withdrawable) and reserved (committed to an active bid).
- You can withdraw your available balance to a registered mobile money number at any time. Withdrawals are processed in batches and are not instant.
- Reserved funds cannot be withdrawn until the bid that reserved them is settled or released.
- Refunds from a dispute resolved in the buyer's favour are credited to the Wallet instantly where the order was paid from the Wallet.
- GrabAm may freeze a Wallet balance where there is an active dispute, suspected fraud, or a Terms violation.
- Wallet balances are held with our payment provider and are not covered by any deposit protection scheme.
9. Delivery
Buyers and sellers coordinate delivery through in-app scheduling tools. GrabAm is not a delivery or logistics provider and doesn't guarantee delivery outcomes between users.
10. Confirming Delivery
- Buyers are expected to be available for the delivery slot they chose, and to confirm receipt in the App once they have the item.
- Confirming delivery is what releases the seller's payout, so please do it promptly.
- If you cannot make your slot, message the seller through the App to rearrange before the slot passes.
- Sellers must confirm in the App when they hand the package to the rider. Booking a rider is done by the buyer and does not by itself mean the item has left the seller.
- AUTOMATIC CONFIRMATION: if a seller has confirmed handing the package to a rider and the buyer neither confirms receipt nor raises an issue within 5 days of that handover, GrabAm will mark the order delivered automatically and release the seller's payout. Both parties are notified when this happens.
- An order where the seller never confirmed handing the package over is never auto-confirmed, and no payout is released.
- SERVICES: the seller marks when they start the work. Only then can the buyer mark it complete, and confirming asks you to check first, because it releases payment and cannot be undone.
- If a buyer will not confirm a completed service, the seller can raise a dispute for admin review. Sellers can only do this once they have actually started the service.
- Automatic confirmation exists because a seller who has handed over an item cannot otherwise be paid if the buyer stops responding. It is not a judgement that delivery definitely occurred.
- If an order is auto-confirmed and you did not receive the item, contact support immediately. Automatic confirmation does not remove your rights under this Agreement or Ghanaian law.
- Repeatedly missing delivery slots or ignoring orders may lead to account review or suspension.
11. Reviews & Ratings
After a completed order, buyers may leave a rating and review. Reviews must be honest and based on a real transaction. Harassment or fraudulent reviews may be removed.
12. Disputes, Cancellations & Refunds
Disputes are handled under our Buyer Protection Policy (see tab above), which forms part of these Terms. In short: either party can open a dispute with evidence, a GrabAm admin reviews it, and decides the outcome, without prejudice to your legal rights under Ghanaian law.
13. Prohibited Conduct
- Unlawful activity or listing unlawful goods.
- Harassing, threatening, or defrauding other users.
- Submitting false or staged dispute evidence.
- Creating multiple accounts or misrepresenting your identity, age, or student status.
- Interfering with the App's security, payment, or authentication systems.
14. Intellectual Property
The GrabAm name, logo, and app are owned by GrabAm and its licensors. You keep ownership of content you upload, but grant GrabAm a license to host and display it to operate the Platform.
15. Suspension & Termination
GrabAm may suspend or terminate accounts for Terms violations, fraud, or harmful conduct. You can delete your account at any time, subject to pending orders or disputes.
16. Disclaimers & Liability
GrabAm provides the Platform “as is.” We don't guarantee listing accuracy or user conduct. To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, GrabAm's liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior 3 months.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Disputes that can't be resolved informally fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
18. Changes & Contact
We may update these Terms and will notify you of material changes in-app or by email. Questions:
